Magic Lists Shopping List App

Magic Lists was a shopping list app I designed at InMarket but was ultimately never released.

The idea was to create an AI-powered shopping list app that lets users enter the name of any dish and instantly generate all the ingredients needed to make it by leveraging AI, with a simple option to add them directly to your shopping list.

Magic Lists also offers unique features like automatic categorization by store aisle, smart unit suggestions based on item type, barcode scanning to quickly add items you already own, location-based reminders when you enter a specific retailer, and easy list sharing with family and friends.

For the visual design, we leaned heavily on iOS's built-in design system, but tweaked it to add a bit of unique visual flair. The main modifications were the color scheme and typeface.

We ultimately opted not to release the app due to already operating two shopping list apps, List Ease and Out of Milk.

Items checked off are kept at the bottom for easy access when you need that item again.

When adding new items, autofill suggestions are provided.

The AI-powered ingredient items lets you cull the suggestion down to just the items you need.

When editing a specific item, you can edit multiple attributes like units, category, and more.

You can edit the categories and units available if a specific one isn't present.

Location-based reminders can be set for all relevant locations, certain chains, or specific locations.

You can share your lists with other users of Magic Lists.
